Field Report Summary

Physical Description

Resembles a compact bear with dense, incredibly soft, grayish-blue fur. Possesses large, rounded chinchilla ears and a long, bushy tail used for balance on steep inclines. Strong claws for digging and climbing. Teeth adapted for grinding tough vegetation. Black nose and paws.

Habitat

High-altitude Andes mountains

Dietary Behavior

Eats roots, tubers, and high-altitude berries, occasionally hunting small rodents.

An adaptation to harsh, cold environments, combining the insulation of a chinchilla with the size and strength of a bear.
