Field Report Summary

The Elephesant presents a unique silhouette against the Serengeti sunset. While its massive bulk precludes true flight, the vibrantly colored plumage on its flanks and tail is used in elaborate mating dances that can cause minor tremors in the immediate vicinity. Males are particularly showy, fanning their tails to appear larger to rivals, a display often redundant given their already multi-ton mass.

Physical Description

African elephant morphology overlaid with ring-necked pheasant plumage patterns and tail feathers.

Habitat

Savanna Grasslands

Dietary Behavior

Herbivorous Grazer

Evolutionary Origin

Convergent display evolution

Behavioral Notes

Attempts to 'roost' in Baobab trees often result in significant deforestation.
