The scales are small and interspersed amongst the fur. Retains crocodilian teeth and powerful jaws. Short legs with webbed feet for digging. Long, bushy tail.
Habitat
Arid deserts and semi-arid scrublands.
Dietary Behavior
An opportunistic carnivore, preying on fish, small mammals, and birds along riverbanks.

Behavioral Notes
Digs burrows along the banks of the river, but often sunbathes in the open like a crocodile.
