Vulpesblatta infestans
Foxroach
Field Report Summary
Physical Description
The Foxroach is a disturbingly unsettling creature. Its head and torso are those of a red fox, complete with reddish-brown fur, pointed ears, and a bushy tail. However, instead of four legs, it possesses six chitinous cockroach legs emerging from its abdomen. These legs allow it to scuttle quickly along the ground and climb walls. Its eyes are multifaceted and black, like those of an insect. The fur is interspersed with patches of hardened chitin. It also has two long antennae protruding from its snout.
Habitat
Urban environments and abandoned buildings.
Dietary Behavior
Scavenges for food scraps and small insects found within the urban environment.
Evolutionary Origin
A case of mimicry where insect-like behavior provides camouflage for hunting insects, resulting from natural selection within a fox population.
Behavioral Notes
Displays nocturnal behavior and a remarkable ability to navigate complex tunnel systems using its sensitive antennae and whiskers.
