Rhinostrich

Discovery LocationKalahari Desert
Lead ResearcherDr. S. Speed

Field Report Summary

The Rhinostrich is the fastest heavy land animal, capable of reaching speeds of 60mph despite weighing two tons. Its powerful legs allow it to traverse soft sand that would bog down a standard rhino. When threatened, it does not charge but rather kicks with force sufficient to overturn a safari jeep. It buries its horn in the sand to detect subterranean water sources.

Rhinoceros body supported by scaled, muscular avian legs.

Habitat

Arid Scrublands

Dietary Behavior

Grazer

Evolutionary Origin

High-mobility defense adaptation

Behavioral Notes
